Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach us at contact@mymmhs.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Counselling is a form of therapy, also known as "talk therapy" where you work with a trained professional to discuss the problems you're currently experiencing which could include areas relating to mental health, family, financial, life-stressors, addiction, self-development and much much more. The trained professional will collaboratively work with you and support you to address your immediate needs and goals.

Counselling might be a good fit if you're experiencing significant emotional distress, difficulties coping with life's challenges, or struggling to improve your well-being. You may have noticed you've lost motivation, your behaviour has changed, your relationships with people are becoming stressful and common things that you once enjoyed, are no longer the same.

Consider seeking support if you're feeling overwhelmed, anxious, feeling depressed, or if your mental and spiritual health is impacting your daily life, relationships, or overall quality of life. If you're ready to reach out for support, develop coping strategies, or make positive changes, counselling can provide a safe and supportive space to do so.

At the initial session, your counsellor will take the time to understand your situation, listen to your needs, and develop a personalised plan for moving forward to support you in achieving your desired goals. This can take up to 1 to 2 sessions.

Each session typically lasts around 50-60 minutes.

We aim to provide affordable services while maintaining professional high-quality care. Each session is currently at $120 dollars. Please contact us directly on the contact page or email at contact@mymmhs.com for further consultation.

Cancellations: Clients must provide at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule a session. Failure to do so will result in a 100% percentage charge of the session fee without a failed reason.

Late Arrival: If you are more than 15-25 minutes late to a session, it may be considered a missed session, and the full fee will apply without a failed reason.

All completed sessions are non-refundable.

You can easily book a session by visiting our website’s “Services” page.

No, you don’t. You can book a session directly online without a referral or Mental Health Care Plan. Our service is private and confidential, and you’re welcome to reach out at any time that feels right for you — no paperwork or GP involvement required.

Please note that sessions are not eligible for a Medicare rebate, as we operate outside the Medicare system.

There’s no formal preparation required, but it can be helpful to reflect on what brought you to seek counselling and what you hope to achieve. Feel free to jot down any questions or concerns you have, and you and the counsellor can address them together during the session in sha Allah.
